The United States basketball team had no problem with its Wednesday opponent in the FIBA World Championships, defeating Iran 88-51. The win clinched the top spot in Group B for the Americans guaranteeing them a spot in the top 16.
Kevin Durant again was a prime component in the American win, scoring 12 points and helping surge the Americans ahead early in the second quarter. Kevin Love led the way for team U.S.A. with 13 points in the contest, his second straight good game.
The win pushes the team's record to 4-0 and will be a top seed when the elimination portion of the tournament begins.
