The Putnam City Pirates will look to bounce back after a disappointing 3-7 season in 2009. However, optimism is up at PC with the return of its quarterback and few athletes with the potential to make plays.
Caleb Lee returns as the signal caller for the Pirates coming off a solid junior campaign. He threw for over 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns and will have his main target back in Carson Lynn.
Lynn who came out midway through the season to be the kicker, turned out to be quite the wide receiver as well. He will be joined on the outside by Daliante Johnson who will need to emerge for the Pirates to be a threat down the field.
Coach John Wofford is excited about the prospects of the Pirates running game. PC will feature Casey Curtis, who is only a junior, a player who can make people miss with extraordinary athleticism. Curtis averaged 6.5 yards per carry last season.
The Pirates will need to be more physical up front and be better at the line of scrimamge, but should be an improved bunch in 2010.
