The Norman Tigers were one win away from a playoff birth last season, but being on the brink as they were twice last season may help Norman get over the hump. If it hasn't done anything else, Coach Greg Nation says that the enthusiasm around his two a days is much higher.
Nation is trying to change the culture at Norman where they once were a power house. The head coach says that players are fired up to practice and get ready and that the student body is starting to embrace the program.
The Tigers will rely heavily on the ground game of returning running back Donovan Roberts who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season. However, the man handing him the ball will be a question.
Nation has a couple choices including Zachary Young, son of former OU offensive coordinator Chuck Long. He will be joined in tht battle by sophomores Matt Foster and Justin Sternberg.
Norman is in maybe the toughest district in the state. The Tigers are joined by three other teams who are almost locks to make the playoffs in Jenks, Broken Arrow and Southmoore. The Tigers will likely battle with Shawnee and maybe Bartlesville for the last playoff spot.
