After a trip to the second round of the playoffs in 2009, the Midwest City Bombers are poised for a deep run in 2010. Head coach Steve Huff returns several playmakers on offense including his senior quarterback.
Greg Austin started his entire junior season and got noticeably better as the season went on, especially in the decision making department and his ability to pull the ball down and make plays with his feet. If Austin can stay poised in the pocket and make the right decisions, he has the athleticism and arm to make the Bombers a contender.
Austin's job will be made a lot easier with the emergence of a familiar name in Midwest City. James Flanders, younger brother of Timothy, has developed in to a threat carrying the ball and will get the work load at the tailback position. Flanders has the quickness and strenghth of his older brother and can carry a load.
Austin will also have two weapons on the outside. Trez Colbert is expected to be the go to option and its no surprise with the amount of athleticism he possesses. He has the ability to go up and get balls and make plays which was evident with his play on the hardwood that helped lead the Bombers to a state championship game.
On the other side will be Claude Donald who also has the body and speed to make plays down the field. If Flanders can provide a solid running game to keep offenses honest, this Bomber offense may be soaring by season's end.
