The Oklahoma City Thunder have become one of the darlings of the NBA nationally and deservedly so. OKC won 50 games a season ago and pushed the Los Angeles Lakers to six games in the first round of the playoffs.
This season, the Thunder won't come as such a shock to people around the country as the Thunder will appear on national television 15 times over the course of the season. Allowing people to take notice of the talent and team inside the Ford Center.
Oklahoma City found out last week it would have four national TV dates, but now knows 15 times the team will be seen across the country. The Thunder will be seen on TNT four times throughout the season (as Portland 11/14, at Dallas 1/6, vs. Orlando 1/13, at LA Lakers 1/17). Also, Oklahoma City will appear on ABC as a part of their national Sunday line up twice during the season (vs. Miami 1/30 and vs. LA Lakers 2/27).
The Thunder, in a addition, will be on ESPN nine different times this season (opening night vs. Chicago 10/27, vs. Portland 11/12, at Boston 11/19, vs. Denver on Christmas Day 12/25, at Golden State 2/13, at San Antonio 2/23, at Orlando 2/25, at Miami 3/16 and vs. Portland 3/27).
The Thunder will play 41 games at home this season and of those 22 will be played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday allowing the Ford Center to again be a home court advantage for the team.
