Thunder Youth Camps

KSBI News

Thunder youth basketball camps are back for the summer and campers have much to look forward to this year.

Participants at all the camps will benefit from the expertise of Nate Tibbetts, head coach of the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder’s NBA Development League team. Other members of the Thunder coaching staff are scheduled to offer instruction at the summer camps, and all but one camp will include a visit from Rumble the Bison.

Camps are open to boys and girls ages 5 to 16 and each camp focuses on basketball fundamentals as well as such key concepts as sportsmanship, hard work, humility and being part of a team.

Each participant receives a Thunder Youth Basketball T-shirt, headband and bag, as well as a ticket to an upcoming Thunder game.

Camp registration is available online or by phone at 405-229-9619.

Children can also register the morning of the camps. Thunder Season Ticket Members and members of the Thunder Kids Club receive a 20-percent discount off registration.

The Thunder works with the National Basketball Academy to run the camps. The Academy organizes youth basketball programs for several other NBA teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves.
