Thunder FanFest in Bricktown

KSBI News

This Friday all Thunder fans can come out and support their playoff-bound OKC Thunder. A community-wide Thunder FanFest is to be held April 16, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. in Bricktown.

FanFest provides an opportunity for fans of all ages to demonstrate support for the team upon the end of the regular season and the eve of the NBA Playoffs. FanFest will also mark the first time that Thunder fans can buy from a full array of new Thunder Playoff merchandise and apparel such as T-shirts, hats, pennants, pins, commemorative basketballs and more.  The event will be held in the parking lot on the southwest corner of Oklahoma and Sheridan Avenues.  Although the team itself will be unable to attend, the event will celebrate the hard work, dedication and commitment of the team as it prepares to take its next steps into the playoffs.

“The Thunder’s success this season has been the result of commitment, resiliency, teamwork and passion for the game – traits also embodied by the fans who have been, and continue to be, a vital part of the Thunder family,” said Thunder senior vice president Brian Byrnes. “Thunder FanFest is a fun and exciting way to engage with other Thunder fans and share in the experience together.”

Eentertainment for the evening includes Universal Republic recording artist and Oklahoma City native Graham Colton, as well as recording artist Baby Bash, whose hits have included collaborations with T-Pain and Akon.

Fans can also enjoy the festivities with Rumble the Bison, the Thunder Girls and the COX Drummers. A brief program at 6 p.m. will be emceed by Mike Steely and Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will be the special guest. Attractions also include face-painting, games, balloon artists, Thunder temporary tattoos and other family-friendly activities. Fans will also be given Thunder rally towels to help show their support for the team.

In addition, fans will have a chance to win playoff tickets by visiting the THUNDERALLY tent. THUNDERALLY is a new, upcoming online community of Thunder fans that will be available soon on thunder.nba.com.
