OU Hosts Pro Day

KSBI News

The NFL draft is six weeks away allowing NFL scouts one last look at a group of Sooners looking to compete at the next level. Today was pro day at OU for the NFL hopefuls.

All but one NFL team, the Oakland Raiders, was represented to watch several former Sooners compete in various drills and individual workouts. After posting great numbers at the combine in Indianapolis, Gerald McCoy just did individual position drills for the scouts. McCoy is projected to be a top five pick. He will try to improve on his bench on March 25th.

Tight end Jermaine Gresham also only did the individuals drill as well showing blocking ability and catching passes. Gresham was sharp in both his route running and ability to move after the catch.

There were three Sooners really looking to make an improvement from there performance in Detroit. Corner-back Dominque Franks needed to post a faster 40 yard dash time and he did so running an impressive 4.47. Brian Jackson was not as fast in the 40 but was very impressive with his vertical jump posting a pro day best 38 inches.

Offensive lineman Trent Williams also went through the entire slate of drills, you can check out his and all the athletes results here.

Sam Bradford did not work out today, the former Heisman Trophy winner will have his own pro day later this month on March 25th.
