Thunder Win Physical Battle

KSBI News

Early on the head's of the Thunder were not on basketball as Kevin Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook all received first quarter technicals, but were able to calm down after that. The Thunder turned a one point lead at the end of the quarter into a 108-102 win Sunday night.

Russell Westbrook took charge of the late to get his team a win. After returning to the game late because of receiving five stitches above his right eye, Westbrook scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter. Westbrook had to receive the stitches after getting a cut over the eye in a very physical game.

Kevin Durant also did his thing, as he always seems to do against Sacramento. The all-star led the team in scoring with 27 points and added eight rebounds and five assists. It is the first time this season Durant has scored less then 30 against the Kings.

Those were not the only two contributors for the Thunder. Four other players scored in double figures in the second straight road win. Jeff Green finished with 12 while Thabo Sefolosha had ten of his own. Off the bench James Harden poured in 14 and Serge Ibaka had 11 points and five rebounds.

Nick Collison and Nenad Krstic did not necessarily do it in the points column, but both hit the glass very hard. Krstic had another double digit rebounding game finishing with ten boards and Collison finished the game with six boards and four points.

Oklahoma City now moves a season high 14 games above .500 moveing to 38-24 on the season and sitting a game up in the sixth spot in the Western Conference owning the season series with the Kings three games to one.
