Thunder Get to High Five

KSBI News

After winning the final three games of a four game home stand, the Oklahoma City Thunder have now won two straight on the road to take its consecutive win streak to five games. The Thunder got the final of those wins last night, defeating Golden State 104-95.

Russell Westbrook had, maybe, his best performance of his young career pushing towards an unheard of quadruple double against the Warriors. The second year point guard scored 21 points, grabbed ten rebounds, dished seven assists and had a career high eight steals in the game. The Thunder had a total of 16 steals and forcing 22 turnovers.

Kevin Durant, who needed 32 points to become the NBA's scoring leader, scored 29 to push his streak of 25 plus scoring games to 24 looking to reach the all time total of 40 games. Durant also added six rebounds and four steals.

In its blowout wins this season the Thunder have big third quarters. Again it was the case Saturday night as the Thunder expanded a two point lead to 15 entering the fourth quarter. OKC outscored the Warriors 36-23 in the third frame.

Oklahoma City now sits at 29-21 on the season and in the seventh spot in the Western Conference, just a game out of the fifth spot. Oklahoma City finishes its mini three game road trip Monday night taking on an injury riddled Portland Trail Blazers.
