The Oklahoma City Thunder look to be buyers in this year's free agent market, but the first deal the team may look to get done is that of Desmond Mason. Mason joined the team last off season and it is his second stint in Oklahoma City as a professional basketball player as he also was a member of the Hornets while here.
Free agency officially began on midnight of July 1 and already there have been some moves officially made by teams in both leagues. However, the Thunder only have to look in its own locker room for its first free agent signing. Mason made it clear throughout the year last year and even after the season ended that he would love to stay here and play for the Thunder.
Mason enjoys the metro area as he has made it home twice and also played collegiately at Oklahoma State. Mason is hoping a deal gets done quickly so he can stay on with the Thunder.

Come on Thunder, surely there's a spot for a fan favorite like Desmond. He can ball too.
