Rays with Huge Comeback

On to some baseball news, the Cinderella Tampa Bay Rays scored six runs in the bottom of the 9th to stage a 10-7 comeback win over Cleveland. Gabe Gross' two run homerun tied it at seven. Then Carlos Pena hit a three run walk-off shot to close the deal. The AL East leading Rays are two wins away from tying the franchise record of 70 wins in a season.

Pirates Blank D'Backs

The Pirates blanked the DiamondBacks 2-0. Jeff Karstens came within four outs of pitching a perfect game. D'Backs Chris Young's broke the streak with a two-out double in the 8th. Karstens ended up with a two hit shutout and improving to 2-0 since coming over from the Yankees.

Yankees at Texas

After legend Bobby Murcer's memorial service, the Yankees were back on the diamond against the Rangers Wednesday night. Newly acquired catcher Ivan Rodriguez injures his knee in a collision at the plate with David Murphy. Both players left the game. The Yankees did go on to win, 5-3.

Self Signs Big with Kansas

He was once considered as a possibility for the OSU head men's basketball coach, but Bill Self won't be leaving KU any time soon. The OSU alum signed a ten year $30 million contract with the Jayhawks on Wednesday.

Play of the Day

Bottom of the 5th, no outs, 9-4 Angels. Juan Rivera hits one to deep center field, but Jay Payton makes a great catch over the wall to rob Rivera of a home run for the 1st out of the inning. Take a look again, Payton's nice grab comes away with our play of the day.
