Favre to Return to NFL
Brett Favre's return to the NFL is official. Favre faxed his request for reinstatement to the league office. The Packers are still trying to work out a compromise with Favre since they announced that Aaron Rodgers is their starting QB.
Lackey's Almost No-Hitter
It was a big night for the Angels in Boston. Just hours after trading for the Braves' Mark Teixeira, John Lackey took a no-hit bid into the 9th inning. Lackey was just two outs from completing the no-no, when Dustin Pedroia hit a single to left. Lackey finished with a complete game two hitter and a 6-2 win.
Davis Takes No-Hitter Into 7 Innings
In Arizona the D-Backs Doug Davis also flirted with history Tuesday. Davis took a perfect game into the 7th inning in San Diego, but the Padres Brian Giles broke it up with this two out single. Davis and two relievers combined for a two hit shutout. The Snakes beat the Pads three-nothing.
Artest to Rockets
Ron Artest appears to be on the move again. The Associated Press reports that Sacramento and Houston are close to an agreement that will send the volatile forward to the Rockets. The Kings get guard Bobby Jackson and the draft rights to rookie Donte Greene.
RedHawks Head Home
The Oklahoma RedHawks are now eleven games ahead of anyone in the American South. The Hawks finished up their series at Colorado Springs last night with a 10-9 win and return for tonight's series kickoff against Las Vegas at the Brick.
Play of the Day
Top 3rd, 3-0 Rockies. Garrett Atkins with a hit to deep center field. Nate McLouth misjudges the ball but makes the over-the-shoulder catch to stop the runner at 3rd. Check that out again as McLouth shows off some nice recovery skills, making the catch and stopping the runner, sacrificing his body into the wall he comes away with our play of the day!
