KSBI-TV/DT Reaching More Viewers With Local Sports
For the fourth consecutive year, KSBI-TV/DT will lead the way in premier Oklahoma High School sports broadcasting. KSBI-TV/DT is scheduled to broadcast 18 games this season ranging from class 2A to 6A. The station is releasing its official schedule which includes major rivalries in various classes and coverage of top ranked metro AND rural Oklahoma teams.
Over the past three years, KSBI-TV/DT has produced and aired more classes of high school sports than have ever been televised LIVE in the history of Oklahoma broadcasting. Most recently KSBI-TV/DT was the local outlet for the OSU/Indiana Insight Bowl, and is currently culminating the first season of Arena Football (AF2) to ever be produced and televised locally. The station also airs LIVE SEC football on Saturday afternoons during the football season. Additionally, this fall, KSBI-TV/DT will be the exclusive Oklahoma outlet for OU and OSU classic bowl game broadcasts. KSBI-TV/DT will carry nine classic bowl games beginning August 23, 2008 (final schedule to be announced by July 30, 2008).
“We reach more viewers across the state of Oklahoma, southern Kansas, and northern Texas than any other Oklahoma commercial station,” said Brady Brus, KSBI-TV/DT President and General Manager. “The viewers across the state have become accustomed to watching our coverage free over-the-air and on their basic cable and satellite lineup in their areas. With our station, the viewer doesn’t have to pay extra to receive a specialized sports channel that isn’t on their basic cable or satellite lineup. As a broadcast station-and specifically an independent broadcast outlet-we have the unique opportunity to reach more viewers and schedule local sports whenever the opportunity presents itself. ”
KSBI-TV/DT is the only local broadcast station which owns and operates its own state-of-the art 40 foot production truck specifically designed to produce sporting events.
Brus stated it is a station-wide effort to bring these games to the viewers. “Our award winning production crew takes great pride in their work. ESPN just recently asked to use our footage in their Sports Center telecast.”
On Thursday and Friday nights of this upcoming high school season, KSBI-TV/DT will begin its LIVE coverage with Oklahoma News Tonight broadcast LIVE from the game location, with the KSBI-TV/DT Tailgate Show directly following. Kickoff of the KSBI-TV/DT Game of the Week will immediately follow the Tailgate Show.
KSBI-TV is available across a large part of Oklahoma and reaches out of market cities such as Muskogee, Lawton, Ada, and Ardmore, Altus, and many others. KSBI-TV/DT is available over the air, on cable outlets across Oklahoma, as well as Dish Network, and DirecTV.
