NBA Playoffs

Part of the west has been won as the Lakers swept their series in four games against the Denver Nuggets with a 107-101 win. Bryant had 31 points for LA including 14 in the final five and a half minutes. They will face the winner of the Jazz-Rockets series in the western conference semifinals.

In another sweep, Dwight Howard posted his third 20-20 game of the post season as the Orlando Magic beat the Toronto Raptors 102 to 92 to win their best of seven in four games. Howard had 21-points and 21-rebounds for the Magic which advances to the conference semifinals for the first time in 12-years.

Riley Resigns

Pat Riley resigned Monday as the head coach of the Maimi Heat after leading the team to a league worst 15 and 67 record this season. Riley remains the team's president and has named 37-year old Erik Spolestra as the new head coach. Riley retires having won 1,210 career games, third most in NBA history and five championship titles. He was voted into the NBA hall of fame last month.

We just can't get away from the NBA so here we go again. Celtics at Hawks, game four Hawks on the run, and it's the Hawks' Josh Childress with the huge one-handed slam. Hawks win this on 97-92. Take another look as Childress comes in from the sky for the slam and our. play of the day!
