Saturday night officials here in Tecumseh got a call from a Washington police officer. That officer had pulled over an Oklahoma car that was swerving and inside that car was Kalai Fourzan and Jim Reimer.
"It's a good thing he watches America's Most Wanted because that's how he recognized them and they were still in the middle of the traffic stop when J.R. called us and said they got her," said Crystal Vanbuskirk, Kalai's Mother.
It's the call this mother has been waiting for for weeks. Finally the news came that her 14-year-old daughter was found.
"Oh my gosh, words can't describe it. T there was this, I felt like I was floating because there was this major weight lifted. But whenever they wouldn't let me talk to her that's when I was really getting frustrated because i just need to hear her voice," said Vanbuskirk.
Officials say Kalai needs to talk to authorities in Washington and to a social worker before she can talk to her family.
"The interviews going on in Washington right now is going to help in our case here in Oklahoma. So it is crucial in our case that we know exactly what she tells authorities up there," said Lt. J.R. Kidney, Tecumseh Police Department.
Kidney says Reimer is behind bars and right now he is planning to waive his extradition hearing, which would bring him back to Tecumseh very soon. Authorities say Kalai told them she loves Reimer, but her mom thinks she has been brainwashed.
"Apparently she has told them she loves Jim and she would die for him, that's, I can't even say what that is. That really upsets me, he did some major work on her," said Vanbuskirk.
She says Kalai has made some really bad choices and has a long road ahead of her to get back on track ,but she will have the support of her family. As for Reimer, she says he deserves a lifetime behind bars
"I think he should never see the outside of a prison cell again. I think he should die an old man in prison, I really do," said Vanbuskirk.
