Officials say a new AAR terminal at Will Rogers World Airport will serve as a gateway to Oklahoma City, bringing in jobs as well as flying in business executives and celebrities.
"It's a great first impression four our business community when they first come to Oklahoma City," said Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett.
The new 6,000 square foot complex is fully equipped with a business center, pilot's lounge and and conference room.
AAR officials say it's modern yet it still provides fliers with an inviting seating area while they await their departure. Cornett says this progressive facility does more than providing a top notch travel experience. He says AAR and their new terminal are stimulating the economy by providing over 600 full-time jobs.
"The idea that AAR is investing in capital in Oklahoma City; this is about a $1.8 million facility, [it] is a wonderful step forward and shows that they're committed to Oklahoma City and they're committed to continuing to grow here," Cornett said.
AAR officials say the corporate and general aviation facility is capable of handling 10,000 flights each year, and that it can support dozens of corporate and private jets daily.
