Suspect Caught in Tecumseh Couple's Murder

KSBI News

One of the escaped inmates from Arizona, who was possibly involved in murdering a Tecumseh couple in New Mexico, has been arrested.  The other suspect remains on the loose.

Monday morning, U.S. Marshals capture convicted murderer 42-year-old Tracy Province just southeast of Yellowstone National Park.  Province, who was armed, is one of men who escaped from an Arizona prison on July 30th.

David Gonzalez, a U.S. Marshal said, "This investigation as you know over the past week has been very fast acting, it's changing on a daily and sometimes hourly basis."

Province and another convicted killer, 45-year-old John McCluskey, fled to New Mexico with McCluskey's fiance and cousin Casslyn Welch.  They are connected to the death's of Gary and Linda Haas of Tecumseh.  Their badly burned bodies were found in a charred camper in Santa Rosa on August 4th.

Major Robert shilling with the New Mexico State Police said, "We have linked one of the subjects through forensics to the crime scene in Santa Rosa."

The couple was on their way to Colorado before their tragic murder.  Their truck was later found about 100 miles west of Albuquerque.  More than 100 armed park rangers and federal agents were searching for McCluskey, and Welch who are still at large as thousands continue to pack Yellowstone National Park.

A $40,000 reward is being offered for McCluskey's capture.  He should be considered armed and dangerous.
