OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A paramedic who was the only survivor of a fatal medical helicopter crash last month has been released from the hospital.
Officials with Wichita, Kan.-based EagleMed said Michael Eccard went home on Tuesday and continues to heal from injuries.
Eccard was hurt July 22 when the A-Star 350 helicopter crashed into a field near Kingfisher as it was headed from Oklahoma City to pick up a patient at an Okeene hospital 90 miles away. Pilot Al Harrison and nurse Ryan Duke were killed in the accident.
EagleMed officials say they are working to assist the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board in their investigation.
Officials haven't determined what caused the accident.
