OK Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Sad news for the family of an Oklahoma soldier--Army Staff Sgt. Vinson Adkinson III was killed Tuesday when an improvised explosive device blew up near his unit in Afghanistan.

Adkinson grew up in Empire City and served with the Germany-based 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team. Adkinson joined the military right after high school.

Family members and friends say they are proud of his service.
