It is going to be a busy weekend on Oklahoma roads.
AAA expects travel in the state to be nine percent higher than last year over the Labor Day weekend. Officials say the vast majority of the jump will be on the roads, where an extra 14,000 drivers are anticipated.
AAA Oklahoma says it appears to be the result of economic improvement.
"They want to hit the highway for one last gasp of summer. The kids have been in school for two to three weeks in some cases so now it's time for mom and dad to hit the highway. It's time for mom and dad to have some fun," said Chuck Mai, AAA spokesperson.
Starting Friday, Sept. 3, AAA will be offering the Tipsy Tow service. If you've had too much to drink, AAA will pick you up, take you to a residence free of charge and tow your car. Call 1-800-AAA-HELP for a ride.
