OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A German national who falsely claimed to be a police officer and trained with Oklahoma City police before being found out now faces deportation.
Twenty-eight-year-old Maziar Golchehr of Cologne, Germany, was sentenced Wednesday to time served after he pleaded guilty in April to illegally possessing ammunition. He spent six months in jail after being arrested in January.
Other charges -- including impersonating a police officer -- were dropped as part of a plea deal.
Oklahoma City police officials say Golchehr worked alongside some police officers after he portrayed himself as a German police officer.
