EagleMed Speaks Out About Crash

KSBI News

EagleMed and Integris officials today say they're accepting sorrow and attempting to move forward from last night's helicopter crash.

The EagleMed medical helicopter and its three-man crew were on their way to pick up a patient when they crashed in a field near Kingfisher. 56-year-old Pilot Al Harrison and 35-year-old Nurse Ryan Duke both died, while 34-year-old Nurse Michael Eccard is in critical condition.

EagleMed Spokesperson Shelia Rupp says the company is still trying to come to grips with what happened.

"We have done some critical incident debriefings and we'll have more sessions like that to help everybody to focus," Rupp said. "That's the first step in healing and getting us to move forward."

The National Transportation Safety Board and The Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the accident. Officials have not yet released any information on what may have caused the crash.

A fund has been set up for the crash victims and their families. The EagleMed 918 Crew Fund is set up at Commerce Bank and can also be found on EagleMed's website at www.flyeaglemed.com.
