Local women were involved in some unusual activities Friday-- they were building a house.
A construction crew entirely of female volunteers, part of the Women Build Program, helped put up the walls of a home, sponsored by Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity.
Volunteers will continue construction for the next weeks. Lowe's stores provided a $25,000 grant to build the home, located in the 600th block of NE 85th Street.
"We've been working very hard in the sun and the wind, we started with the slab this morning and we have almost all of the walls up," said volunteer Caroline Roberts.
The house is expected to be completed on June 29th.
