It may seem that the threat has diminished but officials say swine flu is still a danger in the state.
Two weeks ago, a Muskogee woman died from complications related to the H1N1 virus. Currently, there are two confirmed H1N1 cases in Oklahoma County. Eight other people around the state have also been hospitalized for the virus.
Officials are urging residents to be cautious and take all necessary measures because Oklahoma has one of the lowest vaccination rates.
"We want to make sure that people still get their vaccination, because there is still a possibility that this could persist and elevate in the fall," said Phil Maytubby with the OKC County Health Department.
The latest death brings the total number of H1N1 deaths in the state to 44 since the virus emerged last April.
