Officer Shoots Suspect in Valley Brook

A suspect is sent to the hospital after being shot by police in Southeast Oklahoma County.

At around 3:00pm today, two Valley Brook Police Officers were serving a felony arrest warrant at 1609 SE 61st St. when the suspect, Robert Dale Phipps, 42, tried to run out of the house.  Once he saw police he went back into the house, and an officer followed him in.  The officer fired one shot at the man, striking him in the upper body.

He was taken to the OU Medical Center, and is expected to be released and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.  He will face the previous charge of felony domestic abuse, and new charges related to this incident. 

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
