Three Charged With Murder in Instructor's Death

KSBI News

TISHOMINGO, Okla. (AP) - Johnston County prosecutors have charged the former foster son and two others with first-degree murder for the fatal beating of a Murray State College instructor.

Roy Curtis Zornes II, James Baker and Angel Cassa also were charged Tuesday with rape, burglary and arson. They remained jailed Wednesday.

The Medical Examiner's Office has ruled that Jane Bullard's March 5 death was a homicide, but a cause of death hasn't been determined.

Sheriff Tom Winkler says investigators think Zornes, Bullard's foster son, and the others went to borrow money from her and became angry when she said she didn't have any. Winkler says Bullard was beaten, robbed and the home was set on fire.

A jailer said Zornes hadn't obtained an attorney. It wasn't known if the others had counsel.
