Dozens of people from around the nation were in Oklahoma City pleading with Senator Tom Coburn. Coburn blocked a bill that would allow American leadership to stop the violence going on in Uganda.
In the last year thousands have been killed and hundred of children have been abducted and forced to be child soldiers.
"More children have been abducted, thousands of civilians have been displaced and hundreds have been murdered. Please Senator Coburn, hear us," said Melissa Fitzgerald, actress and supporter.
Actresses, students and even Uganda natives stood on the steps of the Capitol pleading with Senator Coburn.
Among them stood Pepito, a Ugandan who has lost so much during this war.
"When I was three I lost my dad, he was killed by the army in my presence and because of many abductions and killings we were not sleeping in our house we slept outside in the bush," said Pepito.
While Pepito and his family were sleeping outside, Pepito's sister was abducted. Till this day he still doesn't know where she is.
Today Pepito vowed to never stop fighting for the ones he left behind and he asked Senator Coburn to hear his cries and release this bill.
"We are also human, we are different color but we know he does care," said Pepito.
