County Commissioner's Grandson Slain; Brothers Arrested

KSBI News

Oklahoma City -- Two brothers have been arrested for their involvement in a deadly home invasion that happened Tuesday night. The victim is the grandson of a local politician. KSBI Thunder TV's Kealey McIntire has more.

Police say Stevon Hammond, 25, was shot and killed after a fight broke out at a gathering at home in northwest Oklahoma City. Hammond is the grandson of Oklahoma County Commissioner Willa Johnson.

Johnson declined an on-camera interview, but in a statement she says, "I am shocked and saddened to learn of the death of my grandson, Stevon."

Brandon and Braylon Timmons have been arrested and face first degree murder charges, but police still want to talk to several other people who left the scene before officers arrived.

"It is still an ongoing investigation. We're still trying to determine if there could possibly be additional suspects," says Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow.

Johnson's family asks anyone with information to come forward. She also says, "Please continue to pray for Stevon, our family and friends, during this very difficult time."

Anyone with information should call the Oklahoma City Police Department's Homicide Hotline at 297-1200.
