The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that 28-year-old Mindy Jones made-off with a 120-thousand-dollar ambulance early Friday morning.
While at the hospital for a blood test following her arrest for driving under the influence and a hit and run crash earlier that night, police say she got up and ran from the hospital and drove away in the vehicle around 2:30 a.m.
She was spotted on Interstate 40 and was chased by troopers for nearly 50 miles from Shawnee to Del City before parking the ambulance in a homeowners front yard.
No one was hurt and the ambulance wasn't damaged.
Jones is charged with attempting to elude police and was taken to the Oklahoma County jail where she is being held on a four-thousand-dollar bond.
