Bail Denied for Nichols Hills Doctor

First Court Appearance Sheds Little Words

KSBI News

A Oklahoma County Judge has denied bail for a Nichols Hills doctor arrested in the death of his 9-year-old son.  Stephen Wolf appeared in court for the first time since being arrested.

Wolf's attorney, Mack Martin, quickly urged the suspect to say little as he heard the crimes against him.

"Police booked you in on first degree murder and assault with intent to kill. because of the murder charge, bonds denied," said Judge Russell Hall.

The judge also ruled there was enough probable cause to keep him behind bars.

The hearing comes amid new details being released in the case.

"He's got the devil in him and you know it," yells Dr. Wolfe.  The shouts were made during a 911 call made by Wolf's wife early Monday morning.  The same day Wolf is accused of stabbing his 9-year-old son, Tommy to death.

According to a police affadavit, a Nichols Hills police officer walked in during the call and found Stephen Wolf standing over his son's body.

That officer says he then disarmed Wolf, who was still reaching for another knife.

He says at that time the boy had a knife in his head and one in his chest.

KSBI-Thunder TV has also obtained several documents on Stephen Wolf outlining a history of mental issues

According to documents, Wolf was hospitalized from what he descibes as major depression in both 1984 and 1996.

A neighbor also told police, Wolf was under review by the hospital for his anger issues and was supposed to go to a rehab facility for anger, drug and alcohol abuse.

Judge Hall says Wolf could be charged in the next couple days.
