There's a new way to keep up on real time stats, and fans can talk about the game as it's happening with the Thunder TV Companion. During every Thunder game for the rest of the season, thunder.nba.com transforms into a digital, state of the art website feature that let's you follow the game like never before.
"You can get all the excitement of the game without being there, and that's the beauty of this," OKC Thunder VP of Community Relations, Dan Mahoney said.
Fans can get real time stats, the entire play by play, video highlights of the game, and a shot chart of the last 10 shots.
"Also if you're with friends watching the game and you wonder who made the shot 3 minutes ago, you can go back and find out. We know that as technology improves, people want things better and faster and they don't want to wait 2 minutes for the box score to update. It's got to be now," Mahoney explained.
Your thoughts on the team can be voiced in the live chat, which continues throughout the game.
"We try to engage our fans in every aspect of what we do. Our fans can get on the site, interact with our fans, and with the Thunder," Mahoney described.
The NBA says about 57% of people with online access at home watch the games and use the internet.
"So this is a chance for them to connect the 2, connect the TV Companion and watch the game at the same time. But we also have others who if there's a night game maybe they're working maybe they're working the night shift. This allows fans all over the world to follow the Thunder in real time," Mahoney added.
Taking the action to a whole new level with the click of a button. The Thunder TV Companion will launch on the team website just before every game. The live chat also works on smartphones, and iPhones, so fans can chat while at the games.
