The Oklahoma Heart Hospital is set to open January 18th, but if President Obama signs the health care reform bill the doors may never open for business.
"The bill right now envisions a prohibition of physician owned hospitals," said Dr. John Harvey, Oklahoma Heart Hospital CEO.
Hospitals just like the one going up at I-240 and Sooner Road.
Officials chose this area because of the great need to serve the metro's southeast side, including Tinker Air Force Base.
"I think it's very unfair to the military whether active duty or retired that there's not a nearby emergency room or hospital," said William Bowden, Retired General.
Oklahoma County Commissioner agreed and passed a resolution.
"The board of County Commissioners of Oklahoma County ask congress to support an amendment to this legislation to allow The Oklahoma Heart Hospital to open for business," said Commissioner Brian Maughan, Oklahoma County, District 2.
