New Studio Almost Up & Running

KSBI News

The construction is complete.  Now, it's time to fill the newest television station in Oklahoma City.  A new identity has arrived at Thunder TV, which will open new doors for viewers.  The new Thunder TV is quickly taking shape...

Brady Brus, the President of Family Broadcasting Group Inc. said, "I get the question a lot of times, when are you moving in?  Well, we're moving in constantly, it's a constant process."

And the fresh look starts in the heart of the studio.  The state-of-the-art design has been being installed for the past few weeks.

"The set has been delivered from Florida from a company called FX. It's a leading set designer in the nation, and we're very happy with the set," Brus explained. "We're not going to show it all to you because it's exciting and we're going to launch it all at one time."

From weather, to sports, to the anchor desk, the studio will be the new face of KSBI/Thunder TV.  Just feet away, another backdrop, which will be a busy newsroom finding the days top stories.

"This is going to be an exciting look.  When you're in the newsroom you'll be able to see back in to the studio and see the set," Brus described.  But these great new sets have to find away into viewer's televisions.  Thousands of feet of cable is run throughout the building for video distribution, so the station can be seen on AT&T's U-Verse, as well as Cox Cable.

Cody Blount, the Chief Engineer at KSBI said, "As we walk down this wall you'll see that AT&T's fiber area, this is where it's coming in.  We're also going to be feeding our signal to Cox over fiber, so our High Definition and SD signals will be distributed directly from here to the Cox head-ins."

Even more exciting is the connection to the Ford Center.  Not only will KSBI be able to directly get video feed from the Thunder games, but we'll be able to send breaking news, and weather reports to the Ford Center that can be aired during the game for fans to see.

"Lots and lots of equipment going in, and it's keeping us very busy, and we look forward to keeping this project moving, and getting moved over here as soon as possible," Blount concluded.

All of our new toys aren't going unguarded.  Numerous cameras are connected to a closed circuit television system to monitor everything that goes on inside and outside the building.
