The Consumer Product Safety Commission voted to delay enforcement of a national ban on youth motorcycles and ATV's. Two Oklahoma state representatives say they played a role in the decision.
State Reps. Ken Luttrell and Rex Duncan authored a resolution urging congress and the CPSC to lift the ban.
The law was designed to protect children from lead toys, but motorcycles and ATV's also ended up being included.
Duncan and Luttrell say the sale of such items have a big economic impact on the state. They now call on Attorney General Drew Edmondson to stay enforcement of the ban.
