The Blazers might be done, but new plans are already in the works. Oklahoma City could be getting a new hockey team by 2010. The city council will decide whether to accept a letter of intent to bring a team from the American Hockey League to the metro. The existing agreement with the CHL's Oklahoma City Blazers ended after the 2008-09 season. The AHL is considered to be superior to the CHL, and is a feeder league to the NHL. The city hopes to negotiate the agreement with Express Sports to have the team play in the Cox Convention Center Arena.
The agreement is set to go in front of the Oklahoma City City Council on Tuesday, July 7th.
