"The old lady confronted them and they were telling her to get down and she wouldn't get down, the daughter came around the corner and i guess she startled them, and they shot her. they dropped the TV and left," said a neighbor.

Family members tell us Teresa Coleman died this morning as she was trying to protect her mother.

Neighbors say Teresa's mother can barely understand English, so she probably had no idea what the burglars were telling her to do and Teresa ran to her aid.

"That's what Teresa would do, Teresa was that type of person. She coached basketball for the youth for years," said a neighbor.

Neighbors, who wish to keep their identities concealed in fear of retaliation, aren't sure why Teresa's family was targeted but they don't think they were chosen randomly.

"I think they were probably casing the area and knew that the one daughter goes to work at a certain time and they thought the grandma would be there alone and it would be any easy go in and grab," said a neighbor.

Teresa's sister, Tina had just left for work when the burglars forced their way in and killed Teresa. Officers says Teresa's mother is traumatized by witnessing this crime but she was able to provide this description.

"Two black males, slender build in their 20's. One had a goatee and a red bandanna," said Capt. Jody Suit, Del City Police Department.

OSBI was called in to help with the investigation and some people were even stopped for questioning. Neighbors say they have their own opinions over who may have committed this crime. But they know this family will never be the same and they probably won't be able to stay in this house because the memories will be too painful.

 "I don't thinks so, I just, I don't think so," said a neighbor.
