Woman Found Dead in Moore Apt.

KSBI News

We now know the identity of a woman who was found dead insider her apartment Tuesday in Moore.

Police say she is Louellen King, 40.

Moore police still don't know what happened.  They're waiting for the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

Investigators are calling King's boyfriend a person of interest in the crime.

ORIGINAL STORY

"They said they were walking by there when they got in last night and they said they kept smelling something so they stopped the police," said resident Jerry Nolan.

Jerry Nolan says his wife and some of their friends knew something had happened in apartment 124. They knew something didn't smell right and they knew they hadn't seen the woman who lived there for several days. But what they didn't know was what officers would find when they opened the door.

"Found a 40-year-old woman face down and deceased in the back bedroom, once he entered the apartment there were signs of struggle," said Officer Jeremy Lewis, Moore Police Dept.

Lewis says although the woman's body was severely decomposed, there were signs of a struggle and there was blood splattered all over the room.

"It's disturbing to find something like this especially a couple days after the fact," said Lewis.

While waiting for the medical examiners office to determine her cause of death, police are investigating many persons of interest. Today their focus is on the woman's boyfriend and residents who knew them say that may be a good place to start.

"He probably is. I don't know but he's a good suspect, I could put it that way," said Nolan.

"They fought a lot but who wouldn't fight who lives here and nobody cares," said resident Veda Miller.

Miller says the woman who lived in apartment 124 was always friendly and had a great sense of humor. She says if these apartments were better taken care of, crimes like this wouldn't be happening and her friend would still be around.

"We didn't get nothing, we don't get no security, we don't get no safety and single moms like we are, that's hard," said Miller.
