Oklahoma City -- Unemployment continues to rise in Oklahoma and scammers are taking advantage.
The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission and the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office are warning of a new scam targeting those seeking unemployment services.
The OESC has received reports about websites that say they help you fill out unemployment paperwork for a fee. Officials warn the OESC offers these services at no charge.
"There's also a risk that if the websites are asking for personal financial information they may end up becoming a victim again of identity theft. So again be very cautions about who you give your social security number to," says Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson.
Officials say Oklahoma's unemployment rate has steadily increased since September. January's rate was 5.6 percent which is up from 4.8 percent in December.
