Static could be on your screen come February, if you're not prepared.
Lea Eldridge, an Oklahoma City resident, says, "I think it's been pretty well publicized."
Another Oklahoma City resident, Kenneth Rucker, says, "Most people will be prepared for it."
"Obviously, people who watch TV are watching TV and they should know by now," says Eldridge, laughing.
It seems many have heard about the switch from analog to digital but few know the exact date.
Eldridge says, "February, isn't it?"
"At this time and point, I don't know what day it's going to start on," says Rucker.
Eldridge says, "I don't know the date but it's in February as far as I can recall."
Mark your calendars, the transition will take place February 17, 2009.
Russell Kim is the President and CEO of Audio Dimensions. He says, "Very easy process."
He says you'll be affected if you use rabbit ears or a rooftop antenna.
"If you have a set top box right now whether it's cable or satellite you're fine," says Kim.
If not, you can buy a converter box. They range in price from $40 to $70. Plus, the government is giving away $40 coupons for those boxes.
Kim says, "The thing is this big transition from our point of view is that it's going to be a non-event. Very, very few people will go what happened. It'll only be a handful."
It's estimated 17 percent of Oklahomans will be affected by the change.
