As you may recall, superintendent Karl Springer recently resigned so he could serve as the superintendent of Oklahoma City Public Schools.
The search is on now for a new superintendent for Mustang Public Schools. The school board decided Wednesday night against hiring the Oklahoma State School Board Association to assist in that search.
Shannon Rigsby, the Communications Officer for Mustang Public Schools says, "The board decided they're just in the perfect position to do the superintendent search themselves."
She goes on to say, "We're not in a time crunch, we have incredible leadership in place and the district hasn't missed a beat."
Bonnie Lightfoot is serving as the interim superintendent. As for the search for the new superintendent, the board says it could take up to a year.
