"We've never experienced something like we experienced this morning, like I said there was a big boom and people were running out here," said Resident Jessie Murray.
That's how Jessie Murray woke up at about 5:30 this morning and she was shocked to find out that officers were looking for a man who shot two people in her neighborhood.
"It ain't right, we have too many kids around here," said Murray.
Officers say it all started when they responded to a call on N.W. 28th street this morning, but when they got inside the house they were startled by what they found.
"One of the officers saw an individual jump into a green SUV and flea the scene the officers gave chase while other officers realized we had two gun shot victims," said Steve McCool, OKC Police Department.
The chase ended at Fairlawn Gardens where the suspect crashed and then fled the scene.
Dogs and helicopters were brought in for the search but still no luck.
Officials say they will continue to investigate this case.
"We've learned from the preliminary investigation that the individual broke into the house was armed demanding money. Apparently there was a struggle for the gun, there's a male victim and a female victim that got shot," said McCool.
Both victims were taken to St. Anthony's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
