Disturbing Evidence

Wednesday, February 27, 2008; Posted 5:39 pm (CDT)

Dozens of disturbing items and photos were shown to the jury as the Kevin Underwood trial continued Wednesday.

Underwood is accused of killing his 10-year-old neighbor Jamie Bolin two years ago in a cannibalistic plot.

OSBI officials showed the jury meat tenderizer, metal skewers, several swords and knives. Underwood also had a toolbox containing duct tape, rope, a hacksaw and he had an extensive pornography collection. OSBI also gave DNA evidence linking Underwood to Bolin's body.

The disturbing evidence was difficult for the Bolin family to hear.

"The bottom line is the family wants justice for it and get this behind us," says Bolin family member Cody Simmons. Simmons went on to say, "It's like reliving it all over again."

The prosecution also seemed to be trying to show Underwood had been planning the murder. They showed receipts for some of the items dating just two months prior, books like "Dreams of Terror and Death" and even a Barbie with nails in its eyes and checks.

Among the pictures shown were also several bottles of the drug Lexipro, the antidepressant Underwood was supposed to be taking at the time.

The trial will reconvene tomorrow at 9 am. You can count on KSBI-TV to be there.
