Update (2/10/06)
Beginning January 1st, DIRECTV Satellite has made a decision to no longer offer KSBI-TV on their local lineup.
Regardless of DIRECTV’s decision, due to KSBI-TV's air signal, cable coverage, and placement on DISH Network, KSBI-TV continues to reach more areas of Oklahoma than any other OKC commercial station.
We appreciate the tremendous volume of complaints we have received toward DIRECTV's decision, and we continue to send viewers' request and complaints to top executives at DIRECTV, but to no avail.
DIRECTV COULD continue offering KSBI-TV on their local line up as DISH Network does, but DIRECTV has made a decision not to listen to the requests of their subscribers at this point.
According to our viewers, DIRECTV is issuing responses stating "DIRECTV can not legally carry KSBI-TV any longer". This statement is completely untrue. There is a very simple fix for the situation, yet DIRECTV is choosing not to take that opportunity. If you get this response from a representative, we encourage you to email or call the CEO, and VP from DIRECTV (listed below), and remind them that you are a paying customer.
CALL DIRECTLY to DIRECTV's corporate offices:
To issue your complaint directly with the President/CEO of DIRECTV, dial (1-310-***-****)
To issue your complaint with the Sr. Vice President of Programming Operations and Distribution, call: (1-310-***-****)
***DIRECTV has "stongly requested" that KSBI-TV remove the phone numbers and emails of their President and Sr. Vice President of Programming Operations and Distribution. According to a DirecTV representative (K.G.), "if we are constantly having to answer emails and phone calls, we don't have time to work toward a solution to put KSBI-TV back on."
When asked if these names were to be removed would DirecTV then put KSBI-TV back on the lineup, K.G. stated, "I can't answer that."
In this conversation, DirecTV was informed (again) that their subscribers are still very disappointed and those who have DirecTV will be the ONLY viewers unable to view the upcoming state basketball, wrestling, swimming/diving, and soccer play-offs...not to mention the day to day family friendly programming KSBI-TV offers.
Many DIRECTV subscribers have told us they are switching to DISH Network. KSBI-TV is still available on DISH Network and cable outlets all across the state of Oklahoma (as should be expected). DIRECTV satellite subscribers can easily SWITCH to DISH Network by calling:
1-888-449-DISH (1-888-449-3474).
Though we recommend sending your complaint directly to ***** and ***** (above), you can also email your complaint to DIRECTV's customer feedback.
