OU Football players made a point on Friday to show their fans they cared. They signed autographs at the annual "Meet the Sooners" day. The event took place on the practice field south of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
People of all ages came out to take part in the festivities. Among them, a 10-year-old football fan by the name of Colton Shaub. He's confident his team will do well this season.
"I just hope that we'll win a national championship," says Colton Shaub.
Young Shaub and most fans at the event were not concerned about the recent dismissal of two players. This week, quarterback Rhett Bomar and offensive lineman J.D. Quinn were kicked off the team for receiving extra compensation at a summer job.
Shereka Jones, an OU Cheerleader, says, "Of course, any little setback hurts. At least it didn't come in the middle of the season, so now, they have a little bit of time to regroup."
Most fans tell us they have a wait-and-see attitude. Of course, they're hoping for the best!
