The Oklahoma City RedHawks unveiled their new logos and jersey Monday. They're no longer the Oklahoma RedHawks, they're now the Oklahoma City RedHawks. Officials described the look as "big league" and traditional. They say they felt it was only right and appropriate to change the name since Oklahoma City fans have been investing in the team for quite some time.
Scott Pruitt, the OKC RedHawks owner says the change was made "to show our appreciation to the fans of Oklahoma City. To say to them their investment was well made and that this ballpark has made a tremendous difference in the growth, vitality of the Bricktown area.
Officials say the ballpark was the first investment fans made to start the progress Oklahomans see today in the Bricktown area.
