An Oklahoma U.S. Senate candidate wants health care for all. Candidate Andrew Rice calls for leadership that will stand up to special interest groups, and put the needs of Americans and Oklahomans, first. About 650,000 people in the state are uninsured, 130,000 of them are children. Rice wants to make health insurance affordable, and make sure no one is denied coverage because of a pre-existing health issue.
Andrew Rice, the U.S. Senate candidate said, "Community hospitals that serve a large uninsured population write off a lot of money every year to treat people without health insurance. They treat them as they should, but the taxpayers pay for that. So we're paying for it anyway, lets find a way to pay for it on the front end."
Rice also wants to provide economic incentives for health care companies based on the quality of care, and not the volume of patients.
