Bricktown Building Could Become a Hotel

Take a look at that view- it's priceless or maybe not- because it could be yours for just the right price.

"We have had preliminary discussions with a couple of individuals in the hotel business about converting the building into a hotel. It could be used as an office and hotel, or just a hotel," said Michael Haney, G.W. Gulledge & Associates Real Estate Advisors.

Bricktown's Mercantile Building is already home to a couple of businesses including Third Degree Advertising, Uncommon Grounds Coffee House and the popular nightclub, CityWalk. So now realtors are just waiting to see who will make a move on this building first.

"Any preliminary talks are preliminary but can go from preliminary to inked agreements overnight," said Haney.

The owner of Bricktown Brewery, which is right across the street says either way, he'll see a boost in business.

"Whether it's an office or a hotel, it's great news for the Bricktown Brewery," said Charles Stout, Brickhouse Brewery Owner.

Stout says the new NBA team scheduled to play just blocks away in the fall won't hurt business for Bricktown either.

"Anything that brings people down here because they are beginning to like what they see, the excitement. They want to be here, it's become a place you want to say you live in Bricktown," said Stout.
