WNBA Fight
Tuesday night's WNBA game between the Sparks and the Shock got ugly late. With 4.6 seconds left L.A.'s Candace Parker and Detroit's Plenette Pierson get tangled up and then Pierson intentionally runs into Parker. Players and coaches from both benches were involved in the scuffle. Parker, Pierson, Delisha Milton-Jones, and Detroit assistant coach Rick Mahorn were all ejected. The Shock's Cheryl Ford also left the game. She was taken off in a wheelchair after spraining her knee trying to restrain Pierson. After the game, WNBA veteran Lisa Leslie commented on the situation.
"We have to learn how to fight without physically fighting, but at the same time this is not the way we want to represent ourselves and the WNBA," Lisa Leslie, WNBA Sparks.
