Thirteen and 11-Year-Old Girl Slain

OSBI is offering a $14,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

A fund has been set up for each of the girls' funerals.

To donate, contact the Bank of Commerce in Weleetka: P.O. Box 248, Weleetka, Ok 74880 or 405.786.2216

Flowers and a rosary mark the scene of a crime that shattered two homes. It's an unforgivable crime that took place on a county road bordering Okfuskee and Okmulgee counties. The victims: 13-year-old Taylor Dawn Paschal-Placker and 11-year-old Skyla Jade Whitaker.

"Both of these girls attended Graham School, which is in the area," says OSBI Investigator Stan Florence. "This is all in a remote area Northeast of Weleetka."

Officials say the girls were classmates and decided to go for a walk Sunday afternoon from the teen's home.

"This was probably something they had done several times in the past," says Okfuskee County Sheriff Jack Choate.

A short while later, officials say the father of the 13 year old went looking for them and found both shot multiple times and left on the side of the road.

"One was found lying in the ditch, and the other one was just above her, kind of in the grass and brush," says Choate.

In an area that hasn't seen a crime in years, it's one of the most heartbreaking and cruel. While officials have yet to narrow the suspect list, they're working quickly to bring two families answers to what may be unanswerable questions.

"They're children, you know? What would be the purpose of that?" asks Choate.

Officials say even though the shooting happened a quarter of a mile away from the home, the family may have not heard gunshots because it was extremely windy.

If you have any information, call OSBI at 405.848.6724, or call the Okfuskee County Sheriff at 918.623.1122.
